Method and MAS collaborate for the “game of life”


Creative tech studio Method has partnered with MAS to help the insurance company and Kiwisaver celebrate its 100th anniversary, developing an online board game to show how MAS continues to support Kiwis.

MAS took Method to create an experience that shows insurance has the ability to be interesting and engaging, all it needs is a light turn of the wheel.

To answer the brief, Method developed the creative solution for a digital “game of life” experience, loosely based on the popular Hasbro game, but with a twist. By building it end-to-end through the Unity gaming platform, Method was able to show the public what product and what protection MAS could offer.

The board game allows the user to spin the wheel and begin their journey in “life”, with luck cards that impact you positively or negatively.

The maps show how MAS can help clients throughout life, from simple insurance needs to health insurance and income protection.

To add an element of competition, Method created an AI character to play against. To attract players, MAS offers prizes to those who enter the draw at the end of the game.

The MAS Moments game allows people to see a little more of our history and reinforces the importance of having insurance and retirement savings with a company you can trust.

MAS has been supporting Kiwis from all walks of life for a century. It’s awesome and a decent life in itself, so we thought what better way to celebrate than to make a game inspired by The Game of Life!
