Open Stage, one of Harrisburg’s nonprofit theater companies, has hired three new team members. These additions to the team come just months after the downtown theater company resumed producing in-person shows for its 36th season and reopened the newly renovated facilities with further upgrades, including a redesigned lounge for the cabaret and music, called The Court Street Cabaret and an improved Studio Theater, the new site for Open Stage webshows.
Production artistic director Stuart Landon explained that the hires are steps the small theater company takes in an intentional and optimistic expansion. “After the facilities were renovated in 2019 and redesigned earlier this year,” said Landon, “we felt there was a need to bring in bright new minds to help Open Stage go further than ever.”
The three new members join a team of dedicated artists, including Sales Manager Brianna Dow, Production Manager Chris Gibson, Assistant Production Manager Benny Benamati and Costume and Props Manager Rachel Landon.
New members of the Open Stage team include:
JESS YAHNER (Development and Outreach Manager) is from Central PA and has been a part of the local theater and dance community for many years. Among other positions, she has worked as a performer, choreographer, director and stage manager for the Gretna Theater, the Little Theater of Mechanicsburg, the Theater Harrisburg and the Susquehanna Stage. She has taught in various dance studios, including The Movement Laboratory, Hershey School of Dance, and The Harrisburg Dance Conservatory. In addition to dance and theater, Jess has extensive experience in early childhood education and elementary special education. Her most important job is that of mom to an amazing teenage son.
GRIFFIN CUSICK (Marketing Coordinator) was born and raised in Chicago. After earning a film degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, he worked as a freelance production assistant and TV commercial editor for large Midwestern companies like Aurora Health Care, Fleet Farm and Marquette University. He has also written and directed several short films, some of which have been screened at various festivals in the Midwest. In his spare time, Griffin is active in the community, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Planned Parenthood, and Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
TJ CREEDON (Graphic Designer) is a graphic designer and web designer who has been involved in theater and the performing arts since his childhood. As a designer, TJ has created just about everything from actor websites and print ads to the most exciting, reference books. TJ has performed on community and regional theater stages throughout central Pennsylvania as a singer, actor, host, and drag queen named Aileen Cuisine.
